Yes, UR right use peanut er or marshmellow whip as a cushioning material - make a rectangular "holding structure" out of cardboard/styrofoam with a bottom to hold the material from coming out. Fill with cushioning material. Press egg half way into this material. With 20 cm depth that's almost 8 inches, so if egg is 3.5" long, half way would be about 2 " leaving almost 6 inches for the egg to drop into the cushioning material before it hits something hard. That should keep it from breaking.
